Dalit staged protest at Prime Minister’s Residence Gate No. 3

Kathmandu, March 7. A group of Dalit activists mainly students and NGO workers staged protest in front of Gate No. 3 of Prime Minister’s residence at Baluwatar, Kathmandu from 11:30 am to 1 pm yesterday demanding immediate action by the government to look into the Dalit issues and address through the amendment of interim constitution. At the time of protest, the Prime Minister was not at his residence; however, the group led by Durga Sob met with the PM’s staffers, who assured that the issues and concern will be brought to due attention to the Prime Minister, and would arrange a meeting with the agitating Dalit leaders by this Friday.
