The move of the Nepal Government without appropriate consultation with Dalit community to appoint new officials of the National Dalit Commission has irked various segments of Dalit community in the country.

The statement of Dalit Liberation Front- Nepal (Unified) released by its office Secretary Binay on Wednesday Mar 7th said, “Today Main political Dalit Organizations have given an 5 day ultimatum to Local Development Minister Rajendra Pandey to implement agreement of eight political parties. The organizations have opposed of the decision of Nepal Government’s Cabinet appointing officials of the National Dalit Commission without any consultation and acceptance of Dalit Community. They would be organizing a press conference at Report’s Club, today at Putali Sadak at 3 o’clock.”

Similarly, upon releasing a statement on behalf of Nepal Dalit Free Students Union, its Convenor Arjun Pariyar expressed, “Most of the committee members were not very pro-active during the second JANA ANDOLAN. How can the government select that motionless squad again? In what ground, Dalit people will feel comfortable with those members? Could they fight for the sake of Dalit people of Nepal? This is really very bad news. Because, we the people were not fighting for just nomination of the token representatives; we struggled for establishing new culture for finding ultimate solution to the whole of more than five million so-called Dalit in new Nepal. I realized that we struggled for our total change, but it has merely become a dream. Finally, I want to say that each one of us must speak out. This is a matter of our grave concern. I plead to all Dalit people of Nepal, not overlook injustice in front of our eyes.”

२३८ बर्षेखि हिन्दु सामन्तबादि राज्यसत्ताले नेपाली समाजलाई तहगत संरचनामा बिभक्त गरी दलित समुदायलाई लगातार विभेद, उत्पीडन र जीवनका हरेक पक्षबाट पाखा लगाउने कार्य गर्‍यो । त्यसको बिरुद्घमा नेपालका उत्पीडीतहरुले पटक पटक आन्दोलन , संर्घष्ा , ब्रि्रोह गरे । यसै क्रममा ०६२/०६३ को ऐतिहासिक जनआन्दोलन पछि नेपाली राजनितिले अग्रगामी दिशा पक्रिन खोजिरहेको अवस्थामा नेपाली दलितहरुका समस्या र मुद्घाहरुलाई सम्बोधन् नै नगरी नेपाल सरकारले गरिरहेको ब्यबहारप्रति नेपाल स्वतन्त्र दलित बिद्यार्थी संगठनको गंभिर ध्यानाकर्षा भएको छ ।

यसै पर्रि्रेक्षमा हिजो मात्र सरकारले राष्ट्रिय दलित आयोगलाई पुरानै शैलीबाट गठन र समिति छनौट गर्ने निणिर्य गरेको छ । यस कार्य प्रति हाम्रो संगठन घोर भर्त्सना गर्दछ । हाल नेपाली दलितहरुको तत्कालिन माग संवैधानिक राष्ट्रिय दलित आयोग, संविधान सभाको निर्वाचनमा दलितहरुलाई समानुपातिक प्रतिनिधित्वको ग्यारेन्टी लगायत अन्तरिम संविधानमा दलितका हरेक मुद्घालाई समेटिनुपर्ने हुँदाहुँदै २०६२ माघ १९ पछि को प्रतिगामी राजा ज्ञानेन्द्रको सरकार लाई र्समर्थन गर्ने - पर्ूब अध्यक्ष राष्ट्रिय दलित आयोग ) भागवत बिश्वासी परियार लाई पुनः अध्यक्ष चयन गर्ने निर्ण्र्ाागरेको छ । यसले अग्रगामी राजनितिक निकासको सहमति लाई बिगार्ने तथा ने.क.पा. -माओबादी) सहितको अन्तरिम सरकार बन्ने स्थितिमा केहि राजनैतिक दलको मात्र प्रतिनिधित्व हुने षडयन्त्रपर्ूण्ा ब्यवहार र कार्यसैली प्रति नेपाल स्वतन्त्र दलित बिद्यार्थी संगठनले आपत्ती जनाउदै उक्त निर्ण्र्ाातत्काल फिर्ता लिन आग्रह गर्दछ ।

तत्कालीन अबस्थामा उत्त षडयन्त्रपर्ूण्ा मनोमानी निर्ण्र्ााफिर्ता नलिए नेपाल स्वतन्त्र दलित बिद्यार्थी संगठनसंर्घष्ाका विभिन्नकार्यक्रमहरु गर्न बाध्य हुने समेत जानकारी गराउन चाहन्छु ।

Earlier, Nepal Government has dramatically nominated Bhagwat Biswas again as the Chairperson of National Dalit Commission (NDC). The current government formed by the power of Peoples Movement after their victory in Jana Andolan-II could have consulted widely before making any appointment for the Commission, which is expected to bear the aspirations of Dalit people of Nepal.

The observers in Kathmandu have warned not to forget that it was the Chairperson of NDC and his team who welcomed the February 1st move of the autocrat king Gyanendra .
