Ranju Singh bags SLC top rank award among Dalit students

Ms. Ranju Singh (16) bagged a national award for securing country’s top rank from Dalit students at the Nepal’s SLC Board Examination of 2063 B.S.

Kathmandu, November 21- Ms. Ranju Singh VK Gahatraj (16) stood country’s top rank from Dalit students at the Nepal’s SLC Board Examination in 2063 B.S., scoring 84.88% marks in total. She appeared the Exam from JVT High School Tansen, and received national award of NRs. 10,000 amidst a function organised today in Dalit Vikash Samiti office, Baneshwor in Kathmandu. She spoke on her ceremonial speech at the program, and said that she had been inspired for education by her brother (cousin) Dr. Drona Prakash Rasali, who stood first class first in the Nepal’s SLC Board Exam in 2028 B.S. Ranju is the 3rd Daughter of Mr. Shiva Prasad ‘Manav’, who was present at the award ceremony along with his brothers and Dalit intellectual Mr. Om Prakash VK Gahatraj and senior Dalit intellectuals Mr. Shanker Prasad Vishwokarma.

Two members of current Interim Parliament Hon. Tilak Pariyar and Hon. Padam Lal Vishwokarma, who were present in the award ceremony, spoke high of the Ranju’s achievement. The Nepal Federation of Journalists Member Binod Pahadi and others also spoke on the occasion.
