NASO Community meets UML leader Pradip Gyawali in Washington DC
June 22- NASO Community grabbed the opportunity to meet Mr. Pradip Gyawali, a Politburo member of CPN (UML) of Nepal, which is currently leading the 21 other coalition partners running the government in Nepal under the leadership of Madhav Nepal. Mr. Gyawali who had been minister of culture, tourism and aviation in the past had actually came to California US to participate on a program called democratization of military on various emmerging democracies around the world. However, it was his Washington DC visit that prompted NASO Community to meet him. Mr. Gyawali is a senior leader of UML and leads department of social inclusion. Recently, he was invited to honor Late Mr.TR Bishokarma in Kathmandu. On the meeting with Mr. Gyawali, NASO members handed him the draft containing detailed proposal about how to liberate Nepali Dalits from the century old discrimination. The draft will be among the important Dalit’s opinions which should give the current Nepali lawmakers ideas to meet the aspiration of Dalits, who comprise 20 % of Nepali population, when they write the New Constitution for Nepal. The meeting team of NASO includes President Dharam Bishokarma, Deepak Jung Bishokarma, Prakash Nepal, Krishna Sob and Manohar. Mr. Gyawali responded positively to the NASO’s idea and assured them of serious consideration to their agendas when writing the New Constitution.
