Conscious Media Forum, in collaboration with Multidisciplinary Academic PerspectiveS (MAPS), is administering a research support grant for Masters level theses related to HIV and AIDS. This grant support will be of Rs.10,000 each for four students. The guidance and other related support will also be provided to the selected students.

Following are some of the suggested topics for the grant; however any other topics related to HIV/AIDS are also welcomed:

Journalism scholarships available for Dalit students

The Asian College of Journalism (ACJ) in Chennai, India, will award full scholarships to four Dalit students to study towards a Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism. The scholarship includes full tuition, accommodation, and a monthly living stipend. To qualify, applicants must provide proof of their caste and economic status.

Jagaran Media Center (JMC) is an organization working for the rights of the most marginalized communities of the country i.e. Dalits, for a socially inclusive society. The approach that JMC adopts to achieve its goals and objectives is the use of different means of media. JMC is looking for Admin/Finance Director for its central office in Kathmandu .

Responsibilities:

Develops all office policies and the implementation and sustainability of the same.
· Oversees financial operations, personnel management, procurement, implementation of office automation, transport services, communications, travel, logistics, conference, security and other support services.
· Review the administrative needs, in consultation with the Program Director. Decide which policies and approaches are to be implemented to resolve administrative questions.
· Review the staffing requirements.

Demonstrated planning and organizational skills and ability to coordinate own work and the work of others
Work to tight deadlines and handle multiple concurrent activities
Identify priority activities and assignments and to make appropriate adjustments.
Professionalism:
Expert knowledge and command of planning, programming, budgeting, financial management and other relevant administrative policies.

Qualifications:

Education:

MBA specialization in Finance with 3 years of relevant experience or BBS specialization in Finance with 5 years of relevant experience.

Work Experience:

3-5 years experience in Office management: administration, human resources, planning, coordination and control. Experience gained in Social welfare organization, preferably in Governance, Caste Discrimination or Media.
Computer Skills:
Advanced-user level skill in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Able to handle accounting software will be added advantage.

Care Nepal: Vacancy Announcement for a Project Manager

CARE Nepal invites applications from interested Nepali Citizen for the positions of Project Manager for Promoting
Rights and Social Inclusion of Terai Dalits. This is a three years project funded by European Union and will be
implemented jointly by CARE Nepal and Dalit National Federation (DNF). Working areas are Rupandehi, Kapilvastu
and Nawalparasi districts, and the position will be based in Butwal (Rupendehi). The project aim is to promote human
rights and social inclusion of Terai Dalits through social and political empowerment, enhancing institutional capacity,
promoting good governance, and improving policy implementation.
